After dating for a while, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli tied the knot in a small ceremony in Italy in 2017. On January 11, 2021, their daughter Vamika was welcomed. Early in life, celebrity children are subjected to constant camera flashes and media scrutiny. However, Anushka and Virat have managed to keep Vamika out of the spotlight. But in the last three years, the cricketer and actor have shared rare views into their private lives and made a number of admissions regarding their daughter.
In an interview with Harper's Bazaar India in 2022, Anushka defined her "true, undiluted happiness" in life and said that Vamika was the reason she laughed. "When my kid attempts to put a smile on my face. And when she notices that she's made me laugh, she keeps doing it in an attempt to make me laugh even harder. She tries so hard for being so young. And she really appreciates it when I start laughing. I'm genuinely moved by this small gesture," she remarked.
In 2021, Anushka commented to Grazia India regarding Vamika's evolving personality, saying, "I find her extremely determined." She will do everything she wants to do, in my opinion, and I can tell that it will fulfill some sort of purpose in her life. It's encouraging to see that because, I believe, I was also like that. It's my responsibility to mentor and encourage her, to listen to her without getting in the way or micromanaging. Being kind and caring to everyone is, in my opinion, a crucial quality to instill in your child."
Anushka stated that she and Virat have come to the realization that Vamika needs her mother more than the other when speaking at a Puma event in Bengaluru in 2023. "I am aware that at this age, my daughter requires a lot more of my attention. Great father Virat is. As a dad, he is quite involved. However, we've also observed that she is at that age, so she just needs me more. We acknowledge that. Thus, I have done those things," the performer declared. Anushka claimed that as a result, she has made the decision to only work on one movie a year.
