The number of Covid-19 instances recorded in Karnataka have doubled in the last 48 hours, from 28 on Monday to 79 on Wednesday morning, as a result of intensified testing in response to a spike in reports in the state. In the past two days, Karnataka has recorded one death connected to COVID-19.
With 2,041 active cases as of Wednesday, Kerala, a neighboring state, had the greatest number. There have been 336 more instances recorded in the past 48 hours (112 from Monday to Tuesday and 224 from Tuesday to Wednesday). In Kerala, there were three reported deaths between Tuesday and Wednesday. The remaining states that contributed to the 2,311 instances that were reported as of Wednesday, a rise of 270 cases since Tuesday, were Tamil Nadu (77 cases), Maharashtra (35 cases), Goa (23), Puducherry (20 cases), Gujarat (12 cases), and Delhi (four cases).
To reduce the number of Covid-19 cases, the state health agency has implemented a number of preventative strategies. It has reassured the public not to panic and stated that there was no imminent need to impose limitations in order to increase cross-border (between Tamil Nadu and Kerala) surveillance. In order to get set up, all medical facilities are requested to hold exercises during the third and fourth week of December.
