In the meantime, following the announcement on Monday of 34 cases of the JN.1 subvariant in the state, the Karnataka cabinet subcommittee on coronavirus is scheduled to convene on Tuesday. Dinesh Gundu Rao, the Karnataka minister of health, stated on Monday that there won't be any limitations just yet. He also emphasized the importance of caution on everyone's part.
Additionally, considering the recent spike in coronavirus illnesses and the impending new year's festivities, the Delhi government has recommended that people wear masks and stay away from crowds. On Monday, Karnataka confirmed thirty-four cases of the JN.1 COVID-19 subvariant. Twenty cases from Bengaluru, four from Mysuru, three from Mandya, and one each from Ramanagara, Bengaluru Rural, Kodagu, and Chamaraja Nagara were reported out of these.
Former AIIMS director Dr. Randeep Guleria made a statement regarding the JN.1 variety, stating that it is more transmissible and spreading quickly. According to him, fever, cough, cold, sore throat, runny nose, and body aches are among the symptoms experienced by persons who are infected.
