In the Jammu and Kashmir's forest district, a large siege and search operation has been underway, one day after a terrorist attack in Poonch left four army troops dead and two injured. The delegation from the National Investigation Agency and the General Officer Commanding (GoC) of the XVI corps went to Ground Zero on Friday to assess the situation.
On Thursday, the precisely plotted attack was carried out near Dhatyar Morh's blind curve in Poonch, between Dhera Ki Gali and Bufliaz. Since the attack, the road has been off-limits to vehicles, and efforts to find the terrorists have intensified. Following the terrorist attack, it has been alleged that the terrorists stole some of the soldiers' weapons and disfigured the bodies of at least two soldiers. In order to comprehend the pattern and application of weaponry, including steel core bullets in the ambush, security personnel are also conducting an investigation at the location.
The Jammu Statehood Organization was among the groups who staged anti-Pakistan demonstrations in the city following the incident, during which the Pakistani effigy was set afire. A full-scale effort to rid the area of terrorists was urged by the Dogra front Shiv Sena during another protest that took place in the vicinity.
