A circular outlining severe sanctions against 49 recently suspended opposition members of parliament was released by the Lok Sabha. These limitations cover a wide range of parliamentary operations and have an important effect on the duties and responsibilities of Members of Parliament.
It is now forbidden for the suspended members to access the Parliament chamber, lobby, or galleries. This prohibition also applies to their attendance at meetings of the Parliamentary Committees of which they are members. Additionally, during the suspension time, any business listed under their names or notices submitted by them will not be taken into consideration. The circular states that during the suspension period, the MPs will not be paid their daily allowance. The Salary, Allowances and Pensions of Members of Parliament Act, 1954, is followed by this ruling. It means that under the aforementioned Act, their stay at the place of duty cannot be regarded as a dwelling while they are on duty.
The issue in Parliament has gotten worse as a result of this widespread suspension, particularly because important bills were introduced and passed with little debate. The lawmakers have been suspended because they keep raising questions, according to BJP MP Hema Malini. The issue originates from the Opposition's demand that Union Home Minister Amit Shah make a speech in Parliament. They want to talk about the recent security breach that happened on December 13, when they invaded the Lok Sabha and let off smoke weapons.
