The Union Territory of Lakshadweep was the subject of a recent visit by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who used social media to share details of the trip and some exciting photos from his thrilling snorkeling experience. The Prime Minister posted images of the islands' breathtaking scenery on X saying, "For those who wish to embrace the adventurer in them, Lakshadweep has to be on your list."
He went on to say that Lakshadweep's tranquillity is equally captivating as its scenic beauty. The prime minister continued by saying that he had time to think about how to put in even more effort for the benefit of India's 140 crore people in this calm setting. According to the Prime Minister, Lakshadweep is more than just a collection of islands; it is a living witness to the people's spirit and a timeless heritage of customs.
On Tuesday, the PM dedicated nearly Rs 1,150 crore worth of development projects in Agatti with a foundation stone. To address the issue of sluggish internet speed in the Union Territory, the PM launched the Kochi-Lakshadweep Islands Submarine Optical Fiber Connection (KLI - SOFC) project. Together with the Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTC) in every home on Agatti and Minicoy islands, he also officially opened the Low-Temperature Thermal Desalination (LTTD) facility in Kadmat, which will generate 1.5 lakh liters of clean drinking water per day.
Numerous other projects have been allocated to the country, such as the Kavaratti solar power plant, which is the first-ever Lakshadweep battery-backed solar power facility. The five model Anganwadi Centers (Nand Ghars) that will be built on the islands of Androth, Chetlat, Kadmat, Agatti, and Minicoy were the subject of a groundbreaking ceremony that was attended by the Prime Minister. Even after concluding his tour of the Union Territory of Lakshadweep, Prime Minister Narendra Modi appears to be overwhelmed by the breathtaking scenery of the picturesque islands.
