In order to support and house the AI ecosystem, Uttar Pradesh intends to construct Lucknow, India's first AI city. According to Businessline, UP Electronics Corporation Ltd., the project's nodal agency, has published an expression of interest (EoI) soliciting ideas for the planning, construction, and management of an AI City in Lucknow.
With cutting-edge technology, research facilities, and educational institutions, the goal of this AI city is to develop into a vibrant center where ideas flourish. Real estate developers are invited by the EoI to take part in the construction and management of the AI city in order to foster the workforce of the future.
Owing to its substantial integration of AI technology, Lucknow is already home to Centers of Excellence specializing in domains like medtech and AI. With the backing of more than fifteen AI/ML businesses, the IIIT Lucknow AI Centre of Excellence has made a significant contribution to the growth of a thriving entrepreneurial and creative culture. The worldwide AI market, which was estimated to be worth $137 billion in 2022, is projected to increase at a compound annual growth rate of 37.3% between 2023 and 2030, according to a report by Grand View Research.
IT Secretary S Krishnan said that the central government started the process of developing legislation for AI in order to support its development, protect interests, and encourage innovation in India.
