The following two days are expected to see severe to extremely dense fog over the northern Indian states, according to the India Meteorological Department. According to PTI, which cited sources, there have been about 80 delays at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport thus far as a result of bad weather. Many travelers' itineraries were impacted by the delays, which were blamed on poor visibility and foggy weather. This caused annoyance and dissatisfaction.
In addition to air travel, ground transit encountered difficulties as fog and poor visibility caused delays for certain trains in Delhi. Travelers who were on their way to somewhere complained about the disruption to their travel schedules.
A weather caution has been issued by the meteorological service for India's northern regions. Most areas of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi are predicted to see dense to extremely dense fog, and several locations in Uttar Pradesh and a few locations in Uttarakhand are forecast to see similar conditions. Dense fog is also predicted for isolated areas over the northern regions of Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir, and the lower Himachal Pradesh division.
In regions with thick fog and poor visibility, the weather may have a major impact on certain airports, highways, and railroad routes, according to IMD.
