The chief minister of Himachal Pradesh, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, recently unveiled plans for projects worth Rs 100 crore in an effort to increase tourism in the scenic Pong Dam area. In Nakki village in the Kangra district, the Chief Minister made these declarations while presiding over the "Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar" event. Speaking to the public, Sukhu emphasized that the government fully supports the interests of the local people by designating the area next to Pong Dam as an eco-sensitive zone.
He also outlined current initiatives to strengthen the rural economy, pointing to a notable rise in milk procurement rates of INR 6. In Dhagwar, Kangra district, Sukhu also revealed plans to build a state-of-the-art milk processing plant, estimated to cost INR 250 crore. In addition, the Chief Medical Officer reported encouraging advancements in the labor field, declaring the establishment of 20,000 positions in the public sector. He introduced the INR 680 crore Rajiv Gandhi self-employment start-up initiative, which aims to give chances for self-employment to further empower the youth.
The government's dedication to infrastructure development was demonstrated by Sukhu, who launched four projects worth INR 11.32 crore during the occasion. Furthermore, under the Shagun Yojana, a financial aid program that helps people with their wedding-related costs, he gave ten beneficiaries cheques for INR 31,000 apiece. According to the local Met office, Himachal Pradesh is expected to have snowfall beginning on January 25 following an extended period of dry weather in January. Partially snowy conditions are predicted for the higher hills, and on January 26 and 27, precipitation and snow are expected for both the higher and lower hills. On January 28, it is predicted that the entire state will have widespread snow, rain, and isolated thunderstorms.
The fact that Himachal Pradesh has only received 0.1 mm of precipitation this year emphasizes how important the impending weather shift will be. The area has been experiencing dry weather lately; on Tuesday, thick fog was observed in the lowlands and lower hills. Important places including Shimla, Dharamshala, Manali, Kufri, and Mandi have varying minimum temperatures; the lowest recorded temperature was minus 8.1 degrees Celsius in Kukumseri village in Lahaul and Spiti district. After a comparatively dry winter, the prospect of snowfall infuses inhabitants and visitors with hope and gives the environment a wintry touch.
