Republic Day is drawing near, and people all around the country are getting ready to celebrate. Rajpath in Delhi serves as the main thoroughfare for the celebrations, with spectacular parades showcasing the Indian army, navy, air force, police, and paramilitary forces taking place there. On January 26, the Republic Day 2024 parade is scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m. and will travel from Vijay Chowk to Kartavya Path. About 77,000 people can fit in the venue, of which 42,000 are designated for the general audience.
The head of state for this year's Republic Day festivities in India is expected to be French President Emmanuel Macron. Macron is expected to land at Jaipur airport on January 25. His agenda includes stops at Amber Fort, Jantar Mantar, and Hawa Mahal, among other notable sites. He'll also visit Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi while he's in Jaipur. The French president is scheduled to arrive in Delhi later the same night. He is scheduled to attend the Republic Day Parade as the Chief Guest on January 26. He is going to take part in the President of India's 'At Home' Reception at Rashtrapati Bhavan after the procession.
On January 22, Major General Sumit Mehta announced that a tri-services group comprised entirely of women will be participating in the Republic Day Parade for the first time. According to ANI, the organization consists of female soldiers from the Army's military police as well as staff members from the other two services. Along with women from the other two services, this historic contingent will also feature female soldiers from the Army's military police. He verified that Hony Captain Yogendra Yadav and Subedar Major Sanjay Kumar, two of the three live recipients of the Param Vir Chakra award, will be taking part in the Republic Day parade.
According to officials who spoke with PTI, six Indians will be marching with the French military squad alongside Indian contingents at the 75th Republic Day celebration. Captain Noel Louis, the commander of the French marching group, declared that six Indians were members of the French team. CCH Sujan Pathak, CPL Dipak Arya, CPL Parbin Tandan, Gurvachan Singh, Aniket Ghartimagar, and Vikas Djeassegar are among the people involved. A particular focus is also placed on adding vibrant villages to the list of distinguished guests in order to acknowledge their difficult lives and give them access to the Republic Day festivities.
