In anticipation of the India-Afghanistan T20 cricket match being held in Bengaluru on January 17, Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (BMRCL) decided to extend the operation of its metro train services. At Bengaluru's M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, India and Afghanistan will play their last Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket match of the current series. For the much awaited Twenty20 cricket match today, the BMRCL has decided to extend train service durations from four terminal metro stations on the Purple and Green lines until 11:45 pm. In order to prevent private vehicle congestion close to the stadium, steps were taken to expand Metro's services.
In order to provide passenger travel during the extended match hours, special return journey paper tickets will be available for purchase at all metro stations starting at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 17. Between 8:00 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. on the same day, these tickets will permit a single trip from Cubbon Park and MG Road Metro Station to any other metro station.
Additionally, commuters have the option of using QR code tickets, which, if bought on the day of the game, offer a 5% reduction on ordinary rates. Tickets with QR codes can also be purchased using PayTM, the Namma Metro App, or WhatsApp. Furthermore, NCMC cards and smart cards can be used normally. In order to prevent lines at ticket offices, steps were taken to purchase tickets for longer metro hours through a variety of sources.
At the MG Road and Cubbon Park Metro stations, however, only paper tickets, smart cards, and QR tickets will be accepted during the additional hours. The India vs. Afghanistan game is scheduled to air on the Sports 18 network. It can also be viewed live on JioCinema starting at 7 pm (IST). Google's win probability indicates that there is an 84 percent possibility that India will prevail. Regardless of who bats first, Crictracker predicts that India will sweep the series 3-0. India will win the match, according to Sportskeeda as well.
