In the midst of the Congress party's attempts to persuade the Trinamool Congress leadership to form an alliance in West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee launched an attack on the Mallikarjun Kharge-led organization on Wednesday, claiming that their partnership with the CPI(M) will bolster the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). She said that the Congress had turned down her offer of two seats, therefore ending the INDIA bloc's existence in the state.
"There is not a single MLA from the Congress in the state assembly... They demanded more, so I offered them two seats in the Lok Sabha, both in Malda. I therefore informed them that I would not be sitting next to them. "CPI(M) is their leader... have they forgotten the CPI(M)'s tortures?" she questioned during a Bengali event.
Banerjee stated that she has "no objection" to anyone running for office who is related to the late Gani Khan Chowdhury, a prominent member of the Congress from Malda. However, the TMC will compete as well. The only party capable of politically opposing the BJP in the state is the TMC, she added. "They (the Congress) will fight alongside the CPI(M) to strengthen the BJP."
Mamata Banerjee also declared that in the event that the Central government fails to pay the outstanding amount by February 1st, she will hold a dharna. Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury had stated that stones had been thrown at Rahul Gandhi's car in West Bengal. In response, she suggested that the event might have happened in Bihar.
I received a message stating that stones were thrown at Rahul Gandhi's vehicle. After closely examining the events, I discovered that Katihar, not Bengal, was the location of the tragedy. The glass was already broken when the automobile pulled into Bengal.I denounce the assault. This is merely a drama," Banerjee declared. The car was damaged in an accident, according to the Congress, and Chowdhury's comment was false information. Mamata Banerjee's statement was made a few days after Nitish Kumar left the INDIA bloc, putting the alliance of the Opposition in a type of existential crisis.
