The Indian Premier League (IPL) season of 2024 will begin in a little over three months. With it comes the age-old question of whether this will be MS Dhoni's last season before calling it a day on his remarkable career, which has plagued cricket fans worldwide, especially those of the Chennai Super Kings. When queried directly about the rumors during the Junior Super Kings event in Chennai on Saturday, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan declined to comment, putting the onus of handling the matter on the captain instead.
Though Viswanathan gave a timeline for Dhoni's comeback to the practice nets in order to get ready for the 2024 Indian Premier League. Following the 2023 IPL season, Dhoni had knee surgery early this year, although he appears to have recovered well in time for the following campaign. According to Viswanathan, the skipper has started working out in the gym and plans to hit the nets during the first week of January.
The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have reconfigured their team in a deliberate manner in preparation for the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL). At last week's mini-auction in Dubai, Chennai acquired six players: Shardul Thakur (₹4 crore), Rachin Ravindra (₹1.8 crore), Daryl Mitchell (₹14 crore), Sameer Rizvi (₹8.4 crore), Mustafizur Rahman (₹2 crore), and Avanish Rao Aravelly (₹20 lakh) are among the players who joined the five-time IPL winners.
