In a historic win, the Congress party secured a significant victory in the Telangana Assembly Elections by surpassing the crucial milestone of 60 seats in the 119-member assembly. The state witnessed a compelling battle primarily between the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and Congress, with the KCR-led party securing 39 seats. On the other hand, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) trailed far behind, securing a mere eight seats. Adding to the mix, the All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) clinched seven seats in the state.
The state conducted the assembly election voting on November 3, encompassing all constituencies in a single phase. Notably, the Election Commission reported an impressive voter turnout of 70.60 percent across Telangana, with Jangaon leading at 83.34 percent and Narasmpet closely following at 83 percent – marking the highest turnouts in specific regions.
