The outcome of the 2023 Madhya Pradesh assembly elections has once again tilted in favor of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), marking Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan's fourth consecutive term in office. Despite challenges posed by anti-incumbency sentiment and concerns regarding unemployment, the BJP emerged victorious with an overwhelming mandate.
The polling, conducted in a single phase on November 17, encompassed all 230 seats within the state. Although exit polls had hinted at a BJP win, discussions revolved around a closely contested battle between the BJP and the Grand Old Party, Congress. Madhya Pradesh, home to over 72 million residents, hosts 230 assembly seats, with the majority threshold set at 116 seats.
