This Hindi adaptation of the popular American comic series drew praise from Karan, who shared a heartfelt review highlighting the film's remarkable elements and the stellar performances of its newcomers.
Impressed by Zoya Akhtar and her partner Reema Kagti's efforts, Karan lauded the film's production quality, cinematography, choreography, and costumes. He was particularly moved by a scene addressing teenage emotions, sexual orientation, and societal judgment, considering it his favorite moment in the film. Additionally, he commended the subtle yet powerful commentary on climate change, minority voices, and the call to confront injustice, all embedded in a zany musical package.
Turning his attention to the cast, Karan showered praises on the newcomers, including Suhana Khan, Agastya Nanda, and Khushi Kapoor. He applauded Agastya Nanda's portrayal of a complex character, Suhana Khan's portrayal of Veronica with her captivating performance, and Khushi Kapoor's poignant portrayal of Betty, highlighting her compelling silent moments.
