The purpose is hidden in the name of Satyanarayan itself. That means Truth is Narayana or Narayana is the Truth. What does this mean? Let us think a little.
If we take the first meaning. Truth is Narayan. According to me, the meaning of this sentence is that the worshiper of truth is the worshiper of Narayan. If we elaborate, then the person who indulges in false behavior will not be able to achieve Narayan even if he wishes for Narayan. On the other hand, if a person practices truth, he may or may not wish for Narayan, but will definitely receive Narayan's blessings. Keep in mind that here we are talking about practicing truth and not just speaking the truth. The explanation of Satyacharan is more detailed which we will discuss some other time. In the same way, the fault of false behavior is more serious than that of false speaking.
Narayana is the truth. Let us now consider this statement. Worldly greed like money, position, name, fame puts a curtain on our eyes and we consider this world as the truth. Living behind this curtain, we forget how this world runs so swiftly and smoothly. How these tiny particles to the infinite universe, from giant organisms to micro organisms are completing their respective life cycles. While making worldly plans, we forget that in just a few moments the universe can destroy this world and restore it again. And this is not just a philosophical statement but a truth tested on the basis of science. That infinite power, to fathom which one has to dive into infinite truth, is Narayana. That power itself is Narayana. The day you understand that in order to dive into the ocean of infinite truth, you will first have to loosen yourself up, reduce your arrogance, stop breathing greed, that day you will automatically reach Narayan. This is what Aham Brahmasmi is all about. Keep in mind that there is no talk of leaving this world here.
In the broader sense, attaining Narayana means attaining truth. And those who support truth never spread unrest. Those who truly understand Narayan will always be in favor of peace.
