In those days, problems like untouchability were prevalent, due to which he had to face a lot of trouble in his early education. But Baba Saheb was intelligent and good at studies since childhood, so he completed his education by breaking the chains of caste. He was the first untouchable student to enroll in the Government School located on Elphinstone Road, Mumbai. Later in 1913, Ambedkar studied at Columbia University in America. In 1916, Babasaheb was honored for his research.
While studying in London, when his scholarship got over, he came back home and started working as a professor in a college in Mumbai. Although he had to face caste and equality here too. For this reason, Ambedkar started working for providing equal rights to the Dalit community. He had demanded a separate electorate from the British government, which was also approved, but Gandhiji went on a fast unto death in protest, so Ambedkar had to withdraw his demand.
