According to the Meteorological Department, the low pressure area forming in the southeast Bay of Bengal can take the form of a cyclone today. There is less risk of damage in India, as it will move north-northwest till May 12 and then move towards Bangladesh and Myanmar.
A low pressure area over southeast Bay of Bengal adjoining Andaman Sea has developed into a cyclonic storm. This cyclone named 'Mocha' will not hit India. Now it can hit the coast of Bangladesh and Myanmar. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has claimed that the low pressure area over southeast Bay of Bengal has turned into a depression. It is moving northwards and will intensify into a cyclonic storm by May 10
Weather experts say steering winds aren't clear enough to help them figure out Mocha's path. There is less risk of damage in India, as it will move north-northwest till May 12 and then move towards Bangladesh and Myanmar.
The wind speed is likely to be 60-70 kmph. According to the forecast, if the cyclone takes a severe form, then the wind speed can be 120-170 kilometers per hour. This will strengthen the northwesterly winds, due to which the temperature will rise across the country. The high pressure area and anti-cyclonic movement will pull dry and warm winds from Pakistan and adjoining areas towards the Indian region.
