(A poem dedicated to the sea)
- Rachit Bhavsar
O vast creation of Nature,
I sailed and sailed deep within you,
Crossing the tides and facing the waves,
Discovering the horizon that's you.
Rays of white light shining above you ,
Waves sparkling like diamonds,
I saw the majestic flora and fauna,
And your sleeping silence at noon.
The silent breeze of the evening sunset,
Waking you up from your long sleep,
Roaring loudly as a lion you proclaimed,
O mankind Beware! I am the sea.
Tides rising like mountains at sky's height,
Reveal to mankind nature's might,
Flowing sounds of the silent water,
Remind mankind of childhood delight.
I went deep miles and miles,
And discovered nature's miracle,
Seeing the sea 's children and the motherly love,
I heard mother nature's call.
My child! why not man be brother to man,
And make God's abode a peaceful place,
Free from anger lust and greed,
When you my loving kith and kin.
I touched the sea with my gentle hands,
And whispered in its ears,
O mighty sea are you not tired?,
Of facing the storms and tides?
The smiling sea with a gentle face,
Showed its calmness all serene,
Life is all about tides and storms,
Why worry when thy divine?
Taking my way fro towards the shores,
Admist tears of joy and bliss,
I bowed down to the sky like heart,
And to the treasure beneath within.
O man! be like the sea,
Open the windows of your soul,
For now the world is in need of those,
Minds and hearts who know no hatred.
Bless mankind O Lord! with the flowers of your grace,
And let my heart be large as the sea,
Remind me of the lesson I learnt,
From the splendour that's all yours.
