(A poem describing a cold winter night)
- Rachit Bhavsar
Earth clad in a blanket of wool,
The skies cushioning it full,
The cool winds blowing to and fro,
The frost has begun its show.
Twilight of the shining stars descending down,
The elegant moonshine accompaning along,
Words cannot ever describe,
A sight that nature bestows.
Roads and streets wearing a deserted look,
In the darkness icy cold,
The breeze roaring like a lion giant,
Wintertime taking its toll.
Snowladen peaks of the Himalayas high,
Plentiful with alluring snowfall,
Trees soaked in the chilled blizzard,
Its the delightful wintertide.
The soldiers braving the mighty gust,
Everready to respond to the nation's call,
Neither the intense cold nor the snowy winds,
Can undermine their sky like resolve.
As the wintery night fades,
Warm sunlight unfastening blanket of the night,
Sweet chirp of the rising songbird playing far and wide,
Mother nature dancing to the evergreen chord,
Welcoming the warming morn after the freezing nightfall.
