In a horrifying incident that unfolded on the night of Sunday, August 15th, a young man carrying his toddler daughter on his shoulders was shot at close range in Uttar Pradesh's Shahjahanpur district. The victim, identified as Shoaib, was critically injured in the attack and is currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital, where his condition remains critical.
The incident occurred in the Babuzai area of the district, sending shockwaves through the community. The CCTV footage capturing the incident has since gone viral on social media, sparking widespread outrage and concern.
According to reports, the assailant responsible for the attack has been identified as Tariq, who is said to be a cousin of the victim. The motive behind the attack is believed to stem from personal differences between the two men. It was revealed that Tariq and Shoaib had a familial connection, with Tariq being Shoaib's cousin. A dispute had arisen when Shoaib married Chandani, who was originally set to marry Tariq's brother. This perceived insult reportedly led to Tariq's extreme reaction, resulting in the shocking act of violence.
In the CCTV footage, a motorcycle rider is seen passing by Shoaib, who is walking with his daughter on his shoulders. The rider then stops at a distance, allowing another individual to approach Shoaib from the front. Without warning, the assailant shoots Shoaib in the head, causing him to collapse. Both the shooter and the motorcycle rider then quickly flee the scene.
Following the gunshots, Shoaib's family rushed outside and transported him to a local hospital for immediate medical attention. However, due to the severity of his injuries, he was later transferred to a hospital in Delhi for specialized care.
The local police have taken swift action in response to the incident. An FIR (First Information Report) has been registered against three suspects, including Tariq, based on the victim's family's written complaint.
