TWENTY FOUR
Urmil and Navya both were absconding… but they have found out much about their secret abode. Sanjay couldn’t even think that those idiots would take both the girls to the same place! Sanjay felt the need to be underground without wasting time.
It was sure he would be caught someday and that was a well known fact.
Supply of drugs, women trafficking, helping the terrorists with firearms, counterfeit medicines... Sanjay didn't have the slightest idea for which of them he would be tried.
He thought it right to flee abroad in disguise.
A fake passport! It was risky. The police and the Narcotics Bureau must not be sitting idle.
Sanjay's plan to leave the country was almost ready.
He was going through the necessary papers in a well decorated living room.
Even though he had lost his mother at an early age, Sanjay could never forget his mother and so he named his house 'Durga-Smriti' in her remembrance.
Sanjay looked up as the doorbell rang.
He looked into the magic eye and saw Imran Bhai waiting.
Sanjay was brought to the criminal world by Imran Qureshi.
Imran's eyes fell on the boy when he was wandering on the streets at the age of eighteen after being deprived by his aunt. Imran took him to his house and asked him to take rest after he was fed nicely.
"Relax... you can tell me everything about you, I will listen to you."
After Mahatkar uncle's death, Sanjay found someone else to rely on.
Sanjay started narrating about his past and he got choked. Imran Bhai wiped away his tears with affection and said "This is the last day of your tears. I will teach you to wash away your sins with other's tears."
After rigorous training, Sanjay was ready to be Imran Qureshi's worthy successor.
Imran hugged Sanjay as he opened the door for him. There were silver tinges in his hair and his steel strong body was down with various diseases.
"Are you ready?"
"Yes brother… now waiting to board the plane."
Sanjay took Imran Bhai to his bedroom to learn more about his foreign business.
Imran got busy supplying Sanjay with his business secrets.
It was necessary for Sanjay to go undercover for the time being. His name and appearance would change and Imran would take care of everything in India… there were many helping hands but losing his right hand, Sanjay was going to cost him much though the absence would be temporary. Sanjay would come back after it got a little cooler over in the country.
"Do you have any idea how much I will miss you here! Do as I have instructed you to… my blessings are always with you. I have enough confidence in your intellect. I hope I will be able to bring you back in eight to ten months' time."
There was a faint knock on the door and both of them were aware.
"Come on in, It's open."
The watchman peeped in hesitantly to say "The police force have surrounded the house. You better run away. We will keep them busy here."
As soon as he had disappeared, Sanjay hurriedly arranged up all the scattered papers and stood up. He had been successful to come over all such dangerous situations before but perhaps the last defense was not up to the mark. He looked at Imran Bhai's unchanged expression… it would take years for Sanjay to reach that state in controlling his mind. Imran Qureshi looked at Sanjay's frightened and confused expression. He looked into his eyes and asked "Did I bring you up to be scared? You've been with me since you had stepped into adulthood. You didn't burn less of midnight oil to reach this stage… you have a gat with you!"
Sanjay nodded his head in agreement.
As soon as Imran stood up, Sanjay returned to his being. He pulled out two revolvers from the drawer and handed one to Imran.
He collected the papers and set them on fire.
They proceeded down the spiral staircase at the back of the bathroom.
Imran took a good look around and as no one was seen, he started climbing down.
Imran's left knee got injured when the bullet came straight from a hidden spot.
Sanjay was worried that his mentor's life was in danger and moved towards… another bullet hit Sanjay on the shoulder.
The commissioner had sent backups. Many more terrorists arrived too but injured Sanjay and Imran were caught after a lot of gunfire from both the parties.
The case was dismissed at the court due lack of sufficient evidence against Imran and his disciple Sanjay and they were acquitted.
