The concept of time travel is so very enchanting. I can go on and on and on describing, reading and imagining it.
We all are well familiar with the concept of travel, that is, moving from one place to another, not only across the globe but even in outer space. With distance the mode of travel has to be different. From walking to cycle to motor to train to airplane to rocket.
But time travel is travelling across time, from the present to the past or to the future. And the mode of transport, well I am told, is a time machine that can take you a few years back or a few years forth.
There have been so many narratives on time travel on the Internet, particularly YouTube, each one portrayed as real. Descriptions of people visiting the earth from a time zone different from ours are so exciting.
Books based on time travel have been written, under different genres, fiction, crime, science fiction, etc. Movies have also been made using the concept of time travel. Time travel has been mentioned in our ancient texts as well as in Buddhist scriptures.
Scientists also have worked on the possibility of time travel. However, after going through all that I have mentioned above, all I can tell you about the possibility of people travelling in time is that the concept is at best a fig of imagination only. All the descriptions and proofs of actual time travellers are a proof of even better imagination. After all said and done, there is no tangible proof of time travel. Yet we can revel in it with our imagination running wild.
I will give an example of my imagination running wild. Time changes 4 minutes with every degree of longitude of the earth as it moves around its axis, giving us the 24-hour day. So, if I can travel on a rocket with matching or even higher speed, maybe I can travel back in time. Just imagine, if I can somehow get this rocket, I can actually travel back in time.
But now comes the 'imagination running wild part'. Only I have come back in time. How will the realities match. OMG, my head is spinning at a very great speed. I cannot and probably don't want to imagine any further.
But wait, if at all I can manage to, what will happen when I disembark from my so-called rocket? Will I be able to match the time zone I will land up in?
Quite mind boggling, no?
Not as much as the next question, how to time travel in the future?
I am exhausted and give up.
However, I have a better idea. I leave all this to your imagination, now.
Please do get back to me. I would love to read your ideas.
