Many times or if I say it happens constantly, People do it willingly. Maybe there are sadists or they enjoy suffering others. I don't know but I think, It's obnoxious. It could be said that it is god's will. But, I guess god never prophesied that one suffers. it is the will of oneself. if ever happened then it is too difficult to take a decision whether to stay with or be abandoned.
Even at that moment, we lose our faith in god and start believing that there is no god, no god's will, no god's blessings. There is only we who decided what to do or not to do. later, it is revealed there is almighty who decided everything even control your life too.
