Meaning of name: - Abram means, “exalted father”. Abraham means, “father of a great nation”.
अब्राम नाम का मतलब “ऊँचा/महान पिता” और अब्राहम मतलब “जातियों का पिता” |
Ancestry and family life: - Abraham was the tenth generation from Noah. His father’s name was Terah, Abram had two brothers. From the Joshua 24:2 we know that Abraham’s father and grandfather worshiped false gods. His father lived 205 years and he died. Abram got married with Sarai,
वंश और पारिवारिक जीवन : अब्राहम नोहा की दसवीं पीढ़ी का था | अब्राहम के पिता का नाम तेरह था और अब्राहम के दो भाई थे | यहोशु के 24:2, हम जानते है की अब्राहम के पिता और उसके दादा/परदादा झूठे ईश्वरों की पूजा करते थे, अब्राहम के पिता 205 वर्ष जीवित रहे और उन्होंने अब्राहम की शादी सारा/सराई से कर दि थी |
The call of Abram: - 12:1-9
The Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you”.
अब्राहम की बुलाहट: 12:1-9, यहोवा ने अब्राहम से कहा, अपने देश से निकल और अपने पिता के घराने को छोड़कर उस देश में चला जा जो मैं तुझे दिखाऊँगा |
God Promises to Abram: -
“I will make you into a great nation,
And I will bless you;
I will make your name great,
And you will be a blessing,
I will bless those who bless you,
And whoever curses you I will curse;
And all peoples on earth
Will be blessed through you.”
परमेश्वर का अब्राहम से वादा :
मैं तुझसे एक बड़ी जाति बनाऊँगा और मैं तुम्हें आशीष दूँगा, और तेरा नाम बड़ा करूंगा, और तू आशीष का मूल होगा, और जो तुझे आशीर्वाद दे, उन्हे में आशीष दूँगा, और जो तुझे कोसे, उसे मैं शाप दूँगा, और भूमंडल के सारे कुल तेरे दुवारा आशीष पाएंगे |
Abram follows God’s Command: -
Abram went as the Lord had told him; and Lot went with him. Abram was 75 years old when he sent out from Haran. He took his wife Sarai, his nephew Lot, all the possession they had accumulated (gathered) and all the people they had acquired in Haran, and they set out for the land of Canaan.
When Abram traveled through the land as far as the site of the great tree of Moreh at Shechem. That time Canaanites were in the land. Then Lord told to Abram, “To your offspring” I will give you this land.” Abram builds an altar how God appeared to him.
अब्राहम ने परमेश्वर की आज्ञा को माना: अब्राहम यहोवा के कहने के अनुसार चला गया और उसके साथ लोत भी गया | अब्राहम 75 वर्ष का था जब वो हरान से निकला और उसने अपनी पत्नी सारै और उसका भतीजा लोत को भी लिया | और जो कुछ उनके पास था इकट्ठा किया और जो कुछ भी लोगों ने हरान में अर्जित किया था, वह सब लेकर वे कनान देश के लिए निकल गए |
जब अब्राहम देश से होते हुए शकेम में मोरें के बड़े पेड़ के पास स्थान मैं पहुंचा, उस समय देश में कनानी रहते थे, तब यहोवा ने अब्राहम से कहा, “मैं तेरी भेट के लिए यह देश तुझे दूँगा” इस प्रकार का दर्शन देखते हुए अब्राहम ने वेदी बनाई |
Abraham weakness: - 12:12-20
When Abram went down to Egypt there was a famine in the land and Abram has to stay there because famine was severe. He said to his wife Sarai, “I know what a beautiful woman you are” he was afraid because if he said to Egyptian that she is my wife, they will kill me and they will let Sarai to live. So, because of fair he said to his wife sister.
जब अब्राहम मिस्र को गया, तब देश में अकाल पड़ा था, और अब्राहम को वहीं रहना पड़ा, कयोंकि अकाल बहुत गम्भीर था | उसने अपनी पत्नी से कहा, मैं जनता हूँ कि तुम कितनी सुंदर स्त्री हो, वह डरता था कयोंकि यदि उसने मिस्र से कहा की वह मेरी पत्नी है, तो वे मुझे मार डालेंगे और वे सारे को जाने देगे| तो उसने डर के मारे अपनी पत्नी को बहन कहा |
But the Lord inflicted serious diseases on Pharaoh and his household because of Abraham wife’s Sarai. Then Pharaoh told to Abraham, “What have you done to me?” “Why you did not tell me she is your wife not sister” and I took her as to be my wife. Here is your wife please take your wife and go! Then Abraham and Sarai went to their way.
परन्तु यहोवा ने अब्राहम की पत्नी सारा के करण फिरौन और उसके घराने पर गंभीर रोग लगाया | तब फिरौन ने अब्राहम से कहा, “तुमने मेरे साथ क्या किया है? तुमने मुझे क्यों नही बताया कि सारा तुम्हारी बहन नही पत्नी है? और माना उसे अपनी पत्नी के रूप मे रख लिया | यह रही तेरी पत्नी कृप्या अपनी पत्नी को लकर चले जाओ, तब अब्राहम और सारा अपने मार्ग पर चले गए |
Abraham was Unselfishness 13:9
How did Abraham show himself to be unselfish? Although he was older than Lot and could have chosen for himself which land to settle in, he gave Lot the first choice. Through this selfless act, God bless and Abraham went to Canaan, where God greatly multiplied him. Later Abraham risked his life to save is Lot. Abraham gave up his “rights” for the good of others.
अब्राहम ने खुद को केसे निस्वार्थ बनाया? हालांकि वह लोत से बहुत बड़ा था, और वह अपने चुन सकता था की कौन सी भूमि में रहना है | उसने पहली इच्छा लोत को दी | इस निस्वार्थ कार्य के माध्यम से परमेश्वर ने उसे आशीष दी | और अब्राहम कनान को चला गया, और परमेश्वर ने अब्राहम को बहुत बढ़ाया | बाद में अब्राहम लोत को बचाने के लिए आओनी जान जोखिम में दल देता है | अब्राहम ने दूसरों की भलाई के लिए अपने अधिकार को जो सही है दिया |
Abraham continually was building alters to God and giving him the glory and praise. This showed his dependence upon God for everything in his life.
अब्राहम लगातार परमेश्वर के लिया एक वेदी बना रहा था, उनको महिमा और स्तुति दे रहा था | इससे यह पता चलता है कि अब्राहम परमेश्वर पर निर्भर था|
In Genesis 14:20, Hebrews 7:4, Mal 3:7-12, 1 John 3:17. Abraham honored God with his money. He was not greedy and did not want to receive spoils or money from the king of Sodom. He instead gave 10% to Melchizedek. Again, God blessed Abraham and multiplied his possessions all the more.
उत्पति 14:20, इब्रानीयों 7:4, मलाकी 3:7-12, यहूना 3:17 | अब्राहम ने अपने धन से परमेश्वर का अदार किया | वह लालची नहीं था, और सदोम के राजा से लूट या धन प्राप्त नहीं करना चाहता था | इसके बजाया उसने मलिकिसीदक को 10% दिया | फिर से परमेश्वर ने अब्राहम को अशीर्वाद दिया और उसकी धन संपत्ति को और अधिक बढ़ाया |
Genesis 15, the Lord covenant with Abraham. After this, Abram has a vision in which the Lord tells him “Not to be afraid” because he will be Abram’s shield. He complains that he is childless. God has promised Abram both offspring and land. Here God addresses Abram’s concern that he is still childless. When God shows stars as a symbol of the uncountable nation that will come from him. Then Abraham shows an active faithfulness in his relationship with God.
उत्पत्ति 15, यहोवा ने अब्राहम के साथ वाचा बाँधी | इसके बाद अब्राहम के पास एक दर्शन आया और कहता है, “मत डर” कयोंकि वह अब्राहम की ढाल होगा | उसकी शिकायत है कि वह नि:सन्तान है | परमेश्वर ने अब्राहम को सन्तान और भूमि दोनों को देने का वादा किया | यहाँ परमेश्वर अब्राहम को इस चिंता को संबोधित करता है कि वह अब भी नि:सन्तान है | जब परमेश्वर अब्राहम को सितारे अनगिनत राष्ट्र के प्रतीक के रूप में दिखाता है जो उसके पास आयेगा | अब्राहम परमेश्वर के साथ अपने रिसते में निरन्तर विश्वासयोग्य दिखाता है |
Genesis 16, Sara had no child so, she tells to Abraham’ Go sleep with my slave/Hagar; and he went to Hagar. She gave birth to Ishmael. It contains an important difference between man’s tendency to choose his own, sinful way and God’s steadfastness. To be fair to Abram and Sarai, there have been decades between God’s great promise and their present circumstances.
Genesis 15:6, says, that Abraham believed God’s promises and it was credited to him as righteousness.

Genesis 17, God promised to Abraham, that would make a great nation out of him. Abraham, who was very old and childness, was promised many descendants, the promise of blessing and redemption. God promised to bless Abraham and the families of the earth through him. 17,15-19; God also said to Abraham, “as for Sarai your wife, you are no longer to call her Sarai, her name will be Sara. I will bless her and will surely give you a son by her”, and you will call him Isaac”. At age of 90 Sara gave birth to Isaac (Genesis 21).
उत्पत्ति 17, परमेश्वर ने अब्राहम से वादा किया था, कि उससे एक महान राष्ट्र बनाएगा | अब्राहम, जो बूढ़ा और निसन्तान था, जो की उसे वंशजों का वादा किया गया था, आशीष और छुटकारे का वादा किया था | परमेश्वर ने अब्राहम और पृथ्वी के परिवारों को उसके दुवारा आशीष देने का वचन दिया था था | 17:15-19 में, परमेश्वर ने अब्राहम से कहा, “तेरी पति सारै, अब से तू उसे सारै न कहना, उसका सारा होगा | मैं उसको आशीष दूँगा और निश्चित रूप से वह तुम्हें उसके दुवारा एक पुत्र दूँगा | और उसका नाम इसहाक रखना |
उत्पत्ति 21, में इसहाक के जन्म के बारे में बताया गया है | 90 वर्ष की उम्र में सारा ने इसहाक को जन्म दिया था |
Persevering in Prayer: Genesis 18. 20-17. Abraham pleaded earnestly with God for the inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah. Most of these were people he did not know. But his prayer revealed a heart of love and compassion for all people, not only did he care for them, he was zealous to defend God’s own honor and justice.
उत्पत्ति 18:20-17, अब्राहम ने सदोम और अमोरा के निवासियों क एलिए ईमानदारी से परमेश्वर की याचना की| इनमे से वे अधिकांश लॉग थे जिन्हें वो जनता नहीं था | परन्तु उसकी प्रार्थना ने सभी लोगों के लिए प्रेम और करुणा का ह्रदय प्रकट किया, न केवल उसने उनकी परवाह की, बल्कि वह परमेश्वर के सम्मान और न्याय की रक्षा करने के लिए उत्साही था |
Genesis 22- after these things God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Abraham!” then Abraham said, “Here I am”. He said take your son Isaac, whom you love and go to the “Moriah Mountain” and offer him there as burnt offering, upon one of the mountains of which I shall tell you”. 22:10-12.
Then he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. But the angel of the Lord called out to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!”. He replied, “Here I am”. “Do not lay a hand on the boy, “Do not do anything to him”. Now I know that you fear God.
उत्पत्ति 22- इन बातों के बाद परमेश्वर ने अब्राहम की परीक्षा ली, और उससे कहा, “अब्राहम” “तब अब्राहम ने कहा”, “मैं यहां हूँ” | उसने कहा अपने पुत्र इसहाक को ले, जिसे तू प्रेम करता है, उसे ले और “मोरिय्याह पहाड़” पर चला जा, और उस एक पहाड़ पर जिसक विषय में मैं तुझ से कहूं , होमबलि करना|
तब उसने अपना हाथ बढ़ाकर अपने पुत्र को घात करने के लिए छुरी ली, परन्तु यहोवा के दूत ने उसे स्वर्ग से पुकार के कहा, “अब्राहम, अब्राहम, ! उसने उत्तर दिया “मैं यहाँ हूँ” | लड़के पर अपना हाथ मत बढ़ा, और उसे कुछ मत करना, अब मैं जान गया हूँ कि तू परमेश्वर का भय मानता है |

Abraham Died: Abraham was died at the age of 175. Genesis (25:7).
अब्राहम की मृत्यु: अब्राहम 175 की आयु मैं मर गया था |
Lesson from his life:
We should all be willing to leave our “comfort zone” in order to follow God. Abraham left his country, his family, friends and many of his relatives, in order to follow God. The most important part God’s command was to go, to start moving. Once Abram was moving it would be easy for him to change direction. But an object that is not moving cannot change directions.
हमे परमेश्वर का अनुसरण करने के लिए अपने आराम क्षेत्र को छोड़ने ले लिए तैयार रहना चाहिए | अब्राहम ने अपना देश छोड़ा, अपना परिवार और अपने कई रिस्तेदार छोड़े, परमेश्वर के पीछे चलने के लिए | सबसे महत्वपूर्ण परमेश्वर की आज्ञा थी कि “जाओ” चलना सुरू करो | एक बार अब्राहम के लिए आसान होगा उसके लिए दिशा बदलना, लेकिन जो वस्तु गतिमान नहीं है वह दिशा नहीं बदल सकती |
Abraham was an obedient man, and because of his obedience God blessed him.
अब्राहम एक आज्ञाकारी व्यक्ति था और उसकी आज्ञाकारी होने के कारण परमेश्वर ने उसे आशीष दी |
Application:
God may ask us to leave our comfort zone in order to follow Him. He may ask you to leave your family, friends, relatives in order to serve Him. He may ask you to quit your job. He may tell you to share the gospel with somebody when it makes you nervous. Are we ready to sacrifice all of these things and to put complete faith in God and Obey His call? (Luke 16:10).
परमेश्वर अपना अनुसरण कराने के लिए हमारे आराम क्षेत्र को छोड़ने के लिए कह सकता है | वो आपसे आपके परिवार, मित्रों को, रिस्तेदारों को छोड़ देने के लिए, अपनी सेवा करवाने के लिए भी कह सकता है | वह आपसे आपकी नोकरी छोड़ देने के लिए कह सकता है | वह आपको सुसमाचार सुनाने के लिए कह सकता जब आप भयभीत होते हो | क्या हम इन सब चीजों का बलिदान करने के लिए तैयार है, और परमेश्वर पर पूरा विश्वास रखना और उसकी बुलाहट को मानना |
