Generally a sister ties a rakhi in brothers wrist to mark her love and enjoy her rights as being protected by her brother in every phase of her life including her conjugal household.
We endow this practice from generation old tradition ,when lord krishna tied rakhi from her sister. And thus this practice became very popular and is practiced still today...
We should not be offensive to the holy deeds anyway and be sticking to the celebration spreading the right faith
