Prabhas' upcoming action-drama, Salaar: Part One - Ceasefire, is poised to set the box office ablaze. With advance bookings shattering records (over 6.78 lakh tickets and ₹14.88 crore already secured for day 1!), the Telangana government has stepped in to accommodate the unprecedented demand.
In a fan-pleasing move, the government has granted Mythri Movie Distributors permission for special screenings and ticket price hikes. This includes:
- Early morning shows: Six exclusive 4:00 am screenings on December 22nd across Telangana.
- Benefit show: A special 1:00 am screening on December 22nd in select Hyderabad theatres.
- Ticket price increase: A hike of ₹65 for single screens and ₹100 for multiplexes from December 22nd to 28th.
This decision isn't surprising. Prabhas enjoys a massive fan following in Telangana, and Prashanth Neel's KGF franchise remains a blockbuster success in the Telugu states. The anticipation for Salaar, then, is electric.
Adding to the excitement, legendary filmmaker SS Rajamouli purchased the first ticket for the film, officially kicking off the first-day frenzy. Photos of him with Prabhas, Neel, and Prithviraj Sukumaran (the film's co-lead) circulated widely, further fueling the buzz.
Speaking about the film, Sukumaran, primarily known for his Malayalam film work, shared his surprise at the narrative: "I didn't expect Salaar to be a film about two friends… that's what it actually is, an exciting film at its core."
And exciting it does seem. Salaar: Part One - Ceasefire, as the title suggests, is only half the story. Director Neel confirmed a sequel, stating, "Salaar is a story of two friends who become the biggest enemies. We are telling half the story in Part One… this journey will play out over two films."
With a captivating narrative, an action-packed genre, and the combined star power of Prabhas and Sukumaran, Salaar looks set to dominate theatres come December 22nd. The early morning shows, benefit screening, and ticket price hikes in Telangana are a testament to the film's immense anticipation and projected box office success.
