Prajit Ghosh
Prajit Ghosh was born more than seven decades ago and brought up in the serenity of Santiniketan in West Bengal, India. Sri Rabindranath Tagore founded an open-air ashram school at this abode of peace in harmony with nature. Later on Visva Bharati University came to existence there. Rabindranath forecasted the purpose of this university should be “ Yatra vishwam, bhabatyeka needam”, where the whole universe will converge to a nest. Being a student of science Prajit pursued higher studies in Physics leading to the degree of Ph.D. in Hyper nuclear physics with further research in India and abroad. Field of specialization varied from nuclear physics to nano science. Worked as a teacher through more than 45 years with responsibilities like Director/Principal of Engineering colleges, University Professor and research guide. At present retired, with deep interest in the wonders of cosmology and astrophysics. Cherishing new discoveries and realising the worth of human existence became his pleasure of life now.
