Muharram is the first month of the Islamic lunar calendar and holds significant importance for Muslims. It is a sacred month marked by remembrance and mourning, particularly on the 10th day, known as Ashura. On this day, Muslims commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussain, the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad, who was killed in the Battle of Karbala in 680 CE. The occasion is observed with prayers, fasting, and reflection on the values of sacrifice, justice, and faith.
