Cave 16, Ellora caves
‘Is
this true?’
‘Yes
sir, it is true. I’ve seen it now and I believe you should come with me.’
‘Oh
Mahadev, why did this happen! Come, Raj, let’s go’
There had been a lot of hustle going on near cave 16 of Ellora caves
that day. A group of tourists had accidentally found a secret tunnel hidden in
the walls of the passage of the cave. They were instantly pulled out of the
passage and the Manager of Ellora Caves Mr. Raj Burman was informed about the
discovery made at Cave 16.
The passage had been so well hidden that for nearly 10 centuries it
was never to be found until now. After a lot of chaos, the Manager was able to
have a look at the newly found tunnel. His eyes strayed involuntarily at the
entrance of the tunnel. He stood there, completely blank, his face, fear red
and there was sweat dripping from behind his ears. His legs were shaking as if
blood just stopped flowing from there. Frightened at the discovery Raj quickly
dashed through the ancient hallways and pushed through a huge metal door at the
end of the hallway.
The door opened in a large dark room made out of black marble and at
the other end of the room moving his hands in a pile of newspapers was the
person Raj had been searching for. The chief of the archaeology department,
India, Dr. Krishna dev Murthy.
‘We
have to do something. We cannot let anyone near that thing. It is a weapon
capable of catastrophic destruction and I cannot even imagine it in the wrong
hands’ said Dr. Murthy while marching towards the site.
‘Sir
but we cannot control it now half of the people are already sent back and they
all now know about this discovery’ replied Mr. Burman
‘Did
anyone get inside the tunnel?’
‘No
sir, the tourists who discovered the tunnel did try to go in but they were
pulled out at the mouth itself and weren’t allowed to go in any further.’
‘Listen,
Raj, I don’t think we’d be able to hide the truth from the world anymore. I
think we should either destroy it or hide it somewhere else.’
‘But
sir we cannot destroy it and where else are we going to hide it? There is no
such place on the entire earth that can reflect radiations of levels like this.’
‘I
suggest that we let it be there and destroy the opening mechanism of the other
door if that will help keep the secret safe.’
‘And
what about the Truth then? What is going to happen on the total solar eclipse
then?’
‘Let it be Raj, right
now we have to hide this from the eyes of the world, and then shall we think
about what to do about the truth as well as the total solar eclipse. We cannot
let anyone know about this. We have to do something and at this instant. We can
not let anyone find this out and also we can not let it die with us if that is
what it takes to secure it. Seal the entrance door so that no one gets in for
now. It’ll be better for us as well as everyone.’
