The Silver Starts to Rust

The title is not just a metaphor for life but it also reflects the bitter past experiences of people. It's the true face of society which is covered by the glitter of winning and being in the first place. From ages ago, people have only been fighting battles for the sake of winning. No one has ever turned to people who have been second. The fundamental ideology of people is that of securing the first position and letting down their opponent.

This whole school of thought about "winning always" is correct at a point but what about the person who came second? The one who came second was never appreciated and was compared to the first. The third one knew that there was scope for improvement but the second ranker was the first loser. They felt defeated and disheartened. Have you ever thought, how would it feel if you are super close to the winning line but your leg tripped just before crossing  it and you see your competitior getting hands on your dream?

The mentality of people is questionable enough after knowing that they train their children from the beginning of their life to always focus on being first. No one ever teaches them to develop the habit of learning, analyzing and improving. Instead, they scold them for failing and making mistskes. Until and unless a child won't make mistakes, they won't be able to learn from it and improve themselves. But as parents they expect their child to be fawless from the time of birth which is completely absurd. It is ironic, how as adults even they commit atleast 10 mistkes a day but expect their children to not do so.

The rat race that we have always been a part of, is proving to be detrimental for the society itself. After birth a child runs for almost 15 years to become the best in school, competitions etc. After that they run to get the best college, then the best job, the best spouse, the best children and this  vicious cycle continues to go on and on and on.

Being second might not be the best feeling but it definitley shows how much efforts someone has put into growing from nowhere to this position. The feellings about being second and not being a part of the "best's clan" are bound to be a part of one's life and overcoming the fear of not winning is the true showcase of winning in life. The silver starts to rust when exposed to the air of stereotypes and expectations, but it can be preserved by knitting it in the fabric of love.
