RAMENDRA KUMAR
RESUMERamendra Kumar (Ramen) is an award-winning writer with 38 books to his name. He writes children’s fiction, satire, poetry, fiction for adult readers, travelogues and lots more. Ramen has so far won 34 prizes in the ‘Competition for Writers of Children’s Books, organized by CBT. His writings have been translated into 29 languages and have also found a place in text books as well as national and international anthologies. His articles have been published in Chicken Soup for the Soul series, Readers’ Digest, The Week, Swagat and several other off-line and on-line magazines. His interviews have appeared in major national newspapers and e-zines. A much sought after inspirational speaker and story teller, Ramen has been invited to participate in IBBY Congress of Children’s Writers in Denmark (2008) & Greece (2018) and Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival (2019), Jaipur Literature Festival, Bookaroo et al as well as seminars organised by Sahitya Akademi, IGNOU and NBT. Ramen was nominated as a Jury Member for the Best Children’s Author Category of JK Paper & The Times of India’s ‘Women AutHer’ Awards 2020. An Engineer and an MBA, Ramen, who was working as General Manager (PR), Rourkela Steel Plant opted for Voluntary Retirement to follow his Ikigai.
