AYODHYA -the holy land that gave humanity the story of Ramayana, the great poetical epic of Ramacharitmanasa by Goswami Tulsidas(16th century) is also the place that gave the legend of its Princess Sriratna marrying to King Kim Suro of the Gaya Kingdom of Korea sometime in AD 48. The Legend has survived through these centuries. In Korea, even today, family members of Kimhae Kims and Huhs do not inter-marry as they consider themselves of descendents of Kim Suro and Queen Huh, the Korean name of Sriratana. Monuments in the name of the Queen exist at Kimhae in Korea and Ayodhya in India as a symbol of ancient ties between India and Korea. This graphic novel is an attempt to further that symbol of friendship and family ties between the two countries as believed through this Legend, specially brought out to coincide with India as Guest of Honour country at Seoul International Book Fair, 2013.
